Single mother Fatihah Anis Ibrahim had always known that her passion in life revolves around food. She had always loved to make them and serve them to loved ones. And of all types of food, Fatihah loves local pastries the best. For her they are easy to produce, and can last a long time if preserved correctly.
Hence she set up Fatihah Frozen Foods Sdn Bhd in 1994, starting with just one product.
“I started with making curry puffs and selling them via road-side stalls,” recalls this Kota Bahru, Kelantan native. The business has now grown to become a company that specialises in manufacturing quality Halal instant Frozen Food pastries such as Aiskrim Goreng, Cakoi, Cek Mek Molek, Cucur Badak, Murtabak, Roti Paratha, Popiah, Samosa and many more. Her brand is also now well-recognised and sales have reached China, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapura and New Zealand.
She attributed her success to ILTIZAM’s Entrepreneur Development Programme which taught her ways on how to expand her business and professionalise the way her company was being managed.
Her distribution network was also built and her marketing strategy was boosted, and with more encouragement from other organisations, Fatihah became the first woman in Malaysia to dabble in the frozen food business, and using machines to produce her products. She is the first women in Malaysia who involved in frozen food industry and use machines in the processing of products.
“With my machines, I am now able to produce up to 30,000 pieces of kueh per hour,” she said, proudly.
