The Children Islamic Centre, also known as CIC, is a private education institution that focuses on educating children from the age of three to 12 years old. CIC believes that high quality standards in education and inculcating Islamic teachings to young learners will unlock children’s highest potential in intellectual, emotional and spiritual capabilities.
Operated by Proquaz Sdn Bhd, CIC now has over 4,000 students in 70 branches nationwide including 10 franchisees. It has proven to be a Malaysian success when after almost 20 years in the business, CIC needed to grow itself to the next level especially in areas of financial management and business processes improvements.
To address its business challenges, CIC underwent a Diagnostic Tool exercise and was eventually selected to undergo the Entrepreneur Mentorship Programme with ILTIZAM.
Its CEO, Qutren Nada Ahmad said throughout the programme, ILTIZAM appointed a reputable third-party consultant, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), to review its finance function effectiveness which resulted in a set of recommended and implemented process improvements.
In the end, CIC is now able to address its reconciliation issues and reports are currently at 98% accuracy level compared to the 60% mark at the beginning of the programme.
